I have fine gauge and extra fine gauge looms I use to make gloves with finger, half finger gloves, dishcloths, afghan squares, scarves, socks, drink cozies, sweaters, etc. I can do colorwork on my looms, lace, bobbles, increases and decreases, and I can convert needle knit patterns over to my loom and make it look just like it is needle knit when I use the flat or regular knit stitch as oppossed to the e-wrap stitch you discussed (I have been needle knitting off and on for 30 years or more). My looms can also create fabric that resembles crochet. The possibilities of a loom are only limited by the imagination. The reason why I loom knit primarily rather than needle knit? It's easier! You were right on about that! Plus, I don't ever have to worry about my needle slipping out of my work and having a mess on my hands. It's less confusing! I have needle knit socks and loom knit socks and socks on a loom are a ton easier! No need to have four needles when I can put it on one little loom. Thanks for the podcast! We only can buy the Knifty Knitters here, but I know a lot of people who bought several looms and books about looming in America. And a lot of the dutch already joined several american yahoogroups. Wake up people....you are missing the market. There are over 10,000 loom knitters on the Yahoo Group with many more joining every day. Many of us have put down our needles because of the ease of using these looms. Anthing that can be needle knitted can done on the looms, especially socks, just think no more 4 or 5 dpns for one sock. I was pretty disappointed though with the amount of information and description given. Don't get the wrong idea! I do needle knitting and crocheting, as well as loom knitting. I just don't think that the representation for this particular yarn craft was to the proper level it should have been. I teach in the Loom Class Yahoo Group, on-line and we are doing a great deal more than the 'hats and squares' discussed in the podcast. I am a member to several loom knitting Yahoo Groups for the Knifty Knitters (my first loom), Decor Accents (they make some gorgeous works of art that they call looms), and the Kiss Looms (here is a loom that I just got done writing up the assembly instructions for and is one that is dear to my heart. Especially since I can adjust the loom to fit the gauge needed for the yarn I am using....and you can't do that to many other looms out there.) I just feel that the information that was given about looms in your podcast will be giving those needle knitters and crocheters that already look down their noses, something more to frown about. Can I suggest that maybe you do a follow up podcast in the future that involved more research and possibly less focus on all the products that you offer (patterns and looms) because there is just soooo much more to this 'looming world' than you were describing.
