Liz & Zontee celebrate the dads (and grandfathers, uncles, and role models) in our lives with tons of great project ideas and fun ways to give them just a little something (or a big something) yarncrafted for Father’s Day, coming up next month.

We share suggestions from our listeners, as well as tried and true patterns from LionBrand.com from fast-finish projects that you can whip out, to things to do with your kids, to bigger projects that will come in handy as the weather cools.

Patterns discussed include:

Didn’t you mention a crochet sweater blanket? I used the pattern finder and “sweater blanket” yielded 1,036 results; “knit sweater blanket” yielded 568 results — sweaters, baby blankets, everything. Besides the link in the show notes to the knit sweater blanket, is there a crochet version?

YarnCraft says: Hi EL, sorry about that oversight. Click here for the crochet version of that pattern.

I love love love Shannon’s tip on curbing startitis – I have knitting ADD so this comes in handy! My 2009 Secret Santa gifted me with lots of diff colored yarns. I still get to benefit from the act of knitting without the guilt/cost of lots of UFOs. Really enjoy the personality of your show. I’m addicted! :)

Another idea for socks. Especially during the summer, I hate going through airport security barefoot. So, I used the new sockease and made myself a pair of bright stripe socks that I keep in my carry-on. So, each time I go the airport, I slip my socks on and walk with ease through the checkpoint.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE the idea for an iPad sleeve!! My dad works in IT field and is known for his “go-go gadget-ness”, and recently bought himself an iPad. I now have the perfect project to make just in time for Father’s Day! THANK YOU LIZ AND ZONTEE!!!
