I really enjoyed listening to your podcast today! I’m currently working on the Flint mittens for a friend, and I need to finish them by Sunday. I’m a little nervous! Also, you gave really good advice about types of yarn and flattering stitch patterns. One of my first projects was a basket weave blanket made out of homespun. Oops! The mittens I’m working on were a request and the cable blends in to the eggplant colored yarn. I wonder if I should have mentioned this to my friend before I bought the yarn. Hmmm… Oh well, I know she’ll love them.

Have a happy new year and happy knitting!

I’ve definitely seen lots of cables done in darker yarns, and while the look is subtler, that may suit your gift recipient, so no worries!

    Happy new year!

Love your podcast! Heard you talking about knitting for Christmas. I started my spreadsheet (yes!) in August who I was knitting for color, and type of yarn. Because most I knit for live on the other side of PA I had it all done by October and it was sent in 2 trips to the post office. I just needed to loom knit for a few more people but that was not a big crisis. Right now I am woking on an infinity scarf for me, a hat for me, a headband for my mother in law, and a blanket panel for me.

Merry Xmas and Happy new year!

I guess this might have been better on the last cast, but since I’m here making Christmas Cookies and catching up on the last several casts, I guess this is going here!

You mentioned mittens for little ones with the cord to put through sleeves, and that is an awesome idea all around. I think adults could use these, too…  But similarly, I’ve put together a ‘pattern’ of a hat with an attached scarf for my godson who’s two. I know kids don’t wear scarves that often, and I think it’s because it’s more of a hassle for mom and dad, but if it’s a hat and scarf in one, it’s easier to find and the scarf can also keep the hat on! I just tack the two together at the back of the hat and paired with corded mittens, you just turned four winter accessories into two.

I love the pattern in the picture of this podcast.  Can you tell what is this pattern?

    Thanks, Angelina
